Conflicting signals are surrounding Sid Wilson’s future in Slipknot after a report claimed the longtime DJ had been removed from the band.
The unconfirmed report
TMZ reported that Wilson was told he had been permanently removed after nearly three decades with the group. The outlet cited an unnamed source close to the band but did not give a reason for the alleged decision.
Neither Slipknot nor Wilson has issued a clear official statement confirming his departure. That absence is important: the report should not yet be treated as an established announcement from the band.
Jim Root urges caution
Guitarist Jim Root responded indirectly through an Instagram Story, telling followers not to believe everything they read and to stop and think. He did not explicitly say the report was false, leaving Wilson’s status unresolved.
Wilson joined Slipknot in the late 1990s and has appeared on the band’s major releases. Until the group or Wilson speaks directly, claims about why he may have left remain speculation and should not be repeated as fact.
