Social media model Courtney Clenney has reached a plea agreement in the criminal case over the 2022 stabbing death of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, according to her lawyers.
Agreement is not yet final
Clenney had been scheduled to face trial on a second-degree murder charge in Miami. Her legal team confirmed that prosecutors and the defence reached an agreement, but the terms were not immediately disclosed. The deal must still be accepted by the court before it becomes final.
A hearing is expected to determine whether the judge will approve the agreement and what conviction or sentence, if any, will follow. Until then, the original charge and the presumption of innocence remain part of the case’s legal status.
Competing accounts of the 2022 incident
Clenney has acknowledged stabbing Obumseli but has maintained that she acted in self-defence during a violent confrontation. Prosecutors have disputed that account, and Obumseli’s family has rejected claims that he was the aggressor.
The couple’s relationship and prior domestic incidents have been central to arguments from both sides. Because the plea terms are not public, reports claiming a specific sentence or final outcome should be treated cautiously until the court rules.
